Ramsey Noah’s ‘Living in Bondage: Breaking Free’ has picked six nominations as Organisers of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) released the much-expected nominees list for the 2020 edition of the awards.
Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, was nominated in ‘Best actor in supporting role’, ‘Best First Feature Film by a director’ and ‘National Film and video censors board award for Best Nigerian film’
Swanky JKA, was also nominated ‘Best young promising actor’ as the film got listed in the ‘2020 Award for achievement in visual effect’ and 2020 Award for achievement in soundtrack, respectively.

But it still fell short as Desmond Ovbiagele’s, “The Milk Maid”, grabbed eight nominations to become the highest contender in African movies in 2020. Besides other nominations, ‘The Milk Maid’ was nominated for Best Director and Best Film categories at the awards billed for Sunday, December 20th, 2020.
President of the this year’s AMAA jury, Hon. Steve Ayorinde, announced the decision of the Jury in a broadcast on AMAA’s social media platforms on Monday evening.
This year, Actors and filmmakers from Namibia, South Africa, Uganda, Nigeria, DRC, Senegal, Egypt, Kenya, Unuted Stares, Mozambique, Germany, Cote D’Voire, Ghana, Sudan, B/Faso, Togo, Ethiopia and Canada will slug it out at the prestigious African Oscars.
The 16th AMAA awards ceremony, will be broadcast live from Lagos via zoom and cable tv.
